How did you get started?
The marketing department of a Phoenix retail property needed a number of photos shot and transformed digitally to increase the ways it could effectively market its business. At its direction, we photographed various areas of the property. Then we cleaned up the originals, redigified them in one consistent rendering, and burned a CD with the before and after pictures. They retain the copyright to all photos, and allow us to use them for marketing Digifeld.
You mention redigiting the pictures. That means artistic renderings, right? In part. But we also clean up the originals so you can have strong before and after pictures. The originals are part of the package when we do an on-site shoot.
What formats do you shoot in? We use the following, depending on the future of the digital files:
- 3456 x 2304 pixels
- 2496 x 1664 pixels
- 1782 x 1152 pixels
I have a photo of my dog, but I don't have a scanner or use the Internet. How can you help? Send us the photo and we'll see if it's suitable for scanning and redigitizing. Also send me ideas...do you want the dog to look realistic, modernistic, etc.? We can stay in touch by phone and mail. Once we have what you like, we'll send you a CD with three renderings. You can then take the CD to to a place like FedEx Kinko's and have it reprinted in the size you want. The CD is yours: you own the copyright on the photos.
I own a Group Home of Alzheimer's patients in the Greater Phoenix area. What can you do for us? Photos of your property, inside and out, can be good marketing tools for your business. And photos of staff and residents are especially meaningful to family members living out of town or unable to visit. We can show you how to make notecards and brochures using a program like Microsoft Publisher. These photos can be a strong connecting point for your precious residents.
Do you print out pictures for your clients? Generally we only print drafts for people. There are fine graphic printers throughout the country who specialize in printing from digital files. They have special printers and special paper.
You say you don't print, but you do provide notecards for all your clients. Please explain. As a part of every package, we create 10 notecards, but we do not use archival paper or a high-end printer for them. The notecards are a delightful way to reflect what one can do with special photography: postcards, calendars, tee shirts, CD labels, brochures, bookmarks, even business cards.
